Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a master's degree from the department of English literature. Mitchell began her professional career as a journalist for KYW Radio and TV, Philadelphia in the year 1967. 1996, she joined WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). She joined NBC News Washington two years after that as a general reporter. She began to cover the White House in 1981 and was appointed chief congressional correspondent in 1988. She became chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as chief foreign affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell has been a panelist as well as host of the TV show Meet the Press. Mitchell also participated as a panelist in the debates in 1988 with George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded numerous honors for her journalism achievements, such as an award called the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. Mitchell was also awarded with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell's first White House coverage was for NBC News, between 1981-1988. It was a time when both Ronald Reagan terms in office. She covered many notable issues, such as the arms control, budget taxes as well as the Iran Contra scandal. She also traveled to many summits with the help of the President Reagan with Mikhail Gorbachev.
